Garbage dividing product

The garbade dividing product was the first project I did during my education. This project led to my first engineering challenges. The product needed to be innovative, well build and be durable.

The first concept needed to give the right information about the purpose and use of the garbade bin. It was a skill to choose the right product angle and render these setups in Keyshot.

There were also difficulties while designing. Such as the communication within the group of project members. Every member of the group had a different opinion about the best possible design and how to construct that idea. For me the main question in that situation was: How do i solve this problem and what is the best way to communicate the solution to the members of the group?

I learned how to discuss in a professional manner, to listen to the point of view from my project members and to argue my opinion.

The communication of a concept was worked out by a render. The render showed the use of light in dark areas. It gives an idea of the product when used.

  • Exploded view
    The quantity of bins can be desided by the costumer. The modular system makes this easy. The Render and exploded view render is self made to give a clear example. The same parts and construction will be used for the bins, this also makes reparation easier. The door comes in different colors.
  • Concepts
    The product is secured by the concrete block to hold the whole product in place. The chosen concept was already a strong concept, it needed some construction improvements. Also making the product feasible and thought out how to produce it, what kind of materials needed.
  • Opening the product
    The product can be opened, and the bin is able to make a 45-degree angle. This will help the user to pull or replace the sack with more ergonomics and ease.
  • Durability
    The product can withstand a lot of rough use due to the construction and use of steel.
